  • In a large bowl combine the egg, crushed pineapple and bacon. Add ground beef; mix lightly to combine. (Do not overmix.) Form into six 3/4-inch-thick patties.

  • Grease grill rack. Grill patties, covered, over medium-high heat for 8 to 12 minutes or until done (160 degrees F) (see Tip), turning once. Spread top of each burger with 1 tablespoon of the barbecue sauce.

  • Serve burgers in rolls with lettuce, tomatoes and onion.


Tips: To bake pork bacon, place slices side by side on a rack in a foil-lined shallow baking pan with sides. Bake for 18 to 21 minutes or until bacon is crisp-cooked Drain well on paper towels.

The meat may appear a bit pink after grilling. So be sure to use an instant-read thermometer to measure the doneness.
