Peanut Butter and Banana Pita Bites

“In this redition of the all-time classic peanut butter and banana sandwich, we replaced the bread with mini pita bread rounds, which are eaten open-faced and sprinkled with mini chocolate bits.”

Ingredients

    • 6 small (about 3-inch diameter) whole-wheat or whole-grain pita bread rounds
    • ½ cup reduced-fat peanut butter spread
    • 2 tablespoons miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
    • 2 small bananas, peeled and sliced

Directions

  • 1 Cut pita breads in half horizontally. Spread peanut butter on cut sides of pitas; sprinkle with chocolate chip pieces. Top with banana slices.
