Bring out the wonderful taste of strawberries by combining them with this honey-citrus marinade. This fresh fruit salad is perfect with any main dish, or can be served alone as a light desert.

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange liqueur or orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Finely shredded lemon peel

  1. In a medium bowl combine strawberries, orange juice, ½ teaspoon lemon peel, lemon juice, orange liqueur (if using), and honey. Cover with plastic wrap or foil and chill for 1 to 4 hours before serving. Garnish with additional lemon peel. Divide among four serving bowls.
