I thought this was pretty good but my family didn't like it very much. They just didn't care for the flavor combination. I got a mango but when I tasted it it had no flavor so I decided to leave it out. The salad still needed a touch of sweet so I added mandarin oranges instead and that flavor combination was good. I thought this was an amazing update of the May/June 2009 update of May/June 1998 chicken/cabbage salads. The mango replaced the sweetness of the sugar that was added to the older dressing. The mango I got was not at all tough or stringy and was just perfect. I didn't add the hot sauce. I used some leftovers for my lunch the next day and it tasted great but was getting a little wetter. This is been my go to salad recipe this summer. Parties Potlucks family gatherings or even just to keep in the fridge for easy meals. Everyone loves it. I add thin rice noodles that I soaked according to package directions for salad. It really bulks up the salad and just makes it that more special. Read More
