Maple-Pecan Apple Dippers
Diabetic Living Magazine
“Caramel apples can contain up to 60 grams of carbs, but these apple dippers are a lower-carb option. These apple slices—dipped in melted butterscotch, drizzled with sweet maple syrup, and sprinkled with savory pecans—will remind you of your grandmother's pecan pie.”
1 medium apple, cut into 12 slices
3 ounces butterscotch-flavor pieces, melted
⅛ teaspoon shortening or coconut oil
3 tablespoons finely chopped toasted pecans
1½ teaspoons maple syrup
1Dip apple slices halfway into a mixture of melted butterscotch-flavor pieces and shortening or coconut oil. Sprinkle finely chopped toasted pecans to coat.
2Arrange on a waxed paper-lined tray. Let stand until firm or cover and chill up to 1 hour. Drizzle with maple syrup.
