Maple-Pecan Apple Dippers

“Caramel apples can contain up to 60 grams of carbs, but these apple dippers are a lower-carb option. These apple slices—dipped in melted butterscotch, drizzled with sweet maple syrup, and sprinkled with savory pecans—will remind you of your grandmother's pecan pie.”


    • 1 medium apple, cut into 12 slices
    • 3 ounces butterscotch-flavor pieces, melted
    • ⅛ teaspoon shortening or coconut oil
    • 3 tablespoons finely chopped toasted pecans
    • 1½ teaspoons maple syrup


  • 1 Dip apple slices halfway into a mixture of melted butterscotch-flavor pieces and shortening or coconut oil. Sprinkle finely chopped toasted pecans to coat.
  • 2 Arrange on a waxed paper-lined tray. Let stand until firm or cover and chill up to 1 hour. Drizzle with maple syrup.
