Place ground beans in a large glass container with a lid. Slowly pour water over the grounds, making sure all the grounds are moistened. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours. Pour the brewed coffee through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter into a clean glass container. Press on the coffee grounds to extract as much liquid as possible.
