Whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl.
Whisk brown sugar, butter, egg and vanilla in a large bowl. Add oats and the flour mixture; stir with a wooden spoon until well combined. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. (There should be 12 cookies on each baking sheet.) Pat each cookie mound into a 2-inch circle with your fingers or a spoon.
Bake, one sheet at a time, until the cookies are golden brown on the bottom, 12 to 14 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
When all the cookies have cooled, place the melted chocolate in a small sealable plastic bag. Cut a tiny corner off the bag and pipe a horizontal "belt" on each cookie. Place 5 or 6 pieces of almond on each belt to resemble Chewbacca's belt.
To make ahead: Store airtight at room temperature for up to 3 days.
