Snow Banks Sparkling-Wine Cocktail

“In this simple sparkling-wine cocktail, lemon juice and simple syrup make a tart-and-sweet bubbly drink.”


    • Simple Syrup
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup water
    • Cocktail
    • ½ ounce Simple Syrup
    • ½ ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
    • 4 ounces chilled sparkling wine, such as Prosecco
    • Lemon twist for garnish


  • 1 To prepare simple syrup: Bring sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar. Let cool for 30 minutes and then refrigerate until cold, at least 1 hour. Makes about 1½ cups.
  • 2 To prepare an individual cocktail: Combine ½ ounce of the simple syrup and lemon juice in a champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a lemon twist.
  • Make Ahead Tip: Cover and refrigerate the Simple Syrup (Step 1) for up to 6 months.
