Creamy Buffalo Chicken Salad

“In this Buffalo wings-inspired chicken salad, Greek yogurt replaces more than half of the mayonnaise. We like the flavor of Frank's RedHot hot sauce, but Sriracha and Tabasco are delicious options too. Serve this healthy chicken salad as an open-face sandwich or scoop it on top of fresh salad greens.”


    • ½ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
    • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
    • 2 tablespoons minced shallot
    • 2 tablespoons Buffalo hot sauce, such as Frank’s RedHot
    • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
    • 3 cups shredded or chopped cooked chicken
    • ¾ cup chopped celery
    • ¾ cup chopped carrots
    • 3 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese


  • 1 Combine mayonnaise, yogurt, shallot, hot sauce, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Stir in chicken, celery and carrots. Top with blue cheese. Serve at room temperature or refrigerate until cold, about 2 hours.
  • Make Ahead Tip: Refrigerate for up to 3 days.
