A perfect soup pairing or an easy snack, this healthy cheese toast recipe features fresh tomatoes, salty Cheddar cheese and cracked pepper atop slices of crusty bread

  • 1 diagonal slice baguette ( ¼ inch thick), preferably whole-wheat
  • 2 small slices tomato
  • 1½ tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese ( ½ ounce)
  • Pinch of cracked black pepper

  1. Toast bread. Top with tomato, cheese and pepper. Heat in toaster oven (or broil) to melt the cheese, if desired.

This was VERY GOOD!! I'm on a 1500 calorie a day diet and this a great and refreshing add to it and healthy. I took a picture but there wasn't and option to add 1.

I used whole wheat toast, sun dried tomato and sprinkled with pizza spices. Nice.
