Vegan Alternative I have friends who are vegan and so trying to find something to bring to their house for dinner is almost impossible for me. I made this recipe with a non-dairy margarine and half a banana instead of the egg and they were super delicious! I had to hide them from my husband to keep him from eating them all before we got to the party.
A favorite From the first time I made these (and now there have been many) these have been favorites - for their ease of preparation to their delicious light lemon taste. My daughters now make them with THEIR children!! Pros: easy and delicious Cons: none
Amazing and chewy.. exactly what I expected. I can't stress how chewy they were... the outside was crispy and the inside was sooo moist... the honey added such a great flavor to the cookie. I added one tbsp dark cocoa and replaced half of the white sugar for black sugar and the result was amazing. Besides they were incredibly easy to make no rolling dough and cutting required. New favorite cookie recipe!
Not totally what I expected but DELICIOUS! I'm not much of a baker but these were pretty easy and delicious. I had wanted to use our new cookie press but the dough was much too dry and crumbly. If you squished it together with your hands you could make the balls as indicated. I squished them down a bit as others did. I was surprised they were so chewy since the dough was so dry. Mine didn't look at all like the picture- they were really light. Even the second batch which I left in the oven longer (which still didn't get very crispy on the outside and were still almost white). I don't mind since I love soft/chewy cookies. I am wondering if anyone has tried this with whole wheat dough? I'd like to do that next time. Also I am thinking that if I could get it all into a ball and roll it out into a thick slab maybe we could use cookie cutters since the press was impossible. I bake with (and for) my toddler girls.:) Pros: lower fat really tasty soft chewy Cons: crumbly dry dough
My friend and I have been baking Christmas cookies for 32 years. So we know cookies!! These lemon/orange cookies are perhaps the best lemon cookie we have made. Reminscient of lemon bars but not messy they are crisp on the outside with soft lemon/orange inside. We just finished baking and 4 are gone already!
A wonderful yet easy recipe especially if you have a micro plane to zest the peel. Everyone in my family loves them. They stay soft on the inside for several days and freeze beautifully. I rolled the dough balls in course raw sugar before baking which adds a great touch.
Easy and delicious! I brought these cookies to an early Xmas dinner party. Everyone loved them people told me I should sell them! At 7 minutes the tops just started to crack removed them and they were perfect. Very soft and the honey/citrus flavor was incredible. I'm can't wait to make them again!
Good but needed to smush Cookies tasted great first sheet the balls didn't flatten or spread out. I slightly flattened the second sheet before baking and they came out great had to cook the full 8 min. Pros: Very tasty Cons: balls didn't spread out
Wonderful cookie! These where a hit with everyone who tried them! I did have to pat them down also and I put colored sugar on them for Christmas. I substituted 1 1/2 tsp baking powder for the baking soda and cream of tartar. They turned out crispy on the outside and soft & chewing on the inside. Yum! Pros: Great flavor and nice change of pace from all the chocolate and mint during the holidays
