  • 1 10-ounce bag frozen pitted cherries (about 2 1/4 cups)
  • 1 cup reduced-fat “light” vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup nonfat milk
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, split lengthwise, or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Place cherries, ice cream and milk in a blender. With the tip of a sharp knife, scrape all the black paste from inside the vanilla bean into the blender (or add vanilla extract); blend until smooth. Stop and stir once or twice if necessary to completely blend.

Delicious...BUT... This is definitely a simple and quick recipe but why on earth would you recommend using fat free and low fat dairy products? That is so disgusting! It's not the fat that makes US fat, it's the sugar! Pros: Simple and yummy Cons: Non-fat....really people?!?

Anything w/cherries and real vanilla is awesome! However I would do a couple of substitutes instead of a cup of reduced fat vanilla ice cream do 1/2 cup of premium reduced fat ice cream 1 cup of vanilla greek yogurt and delicious vanilla almond milk instead of cows milk! Yummers!

sounds great except the sugar (or artificial sweetners,flavors,colors) from the 'lite' ice cream cancel out anything remotely healty from those cherries. what's the solution? Well... nix the ice cream & just do the cherries, vanilla bean, organic heavy cream (or half n half) with agave nectar! Now thats gooood!!
