Frozen mixed berries become an almost instant fruit topping in the microwave. Serve over angel food cake or Greek-style yogurt.

  • 2 cups frozen mixed berries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons cornstarch

  1. Toss berries, sugar and cornstarch in a large microwave-safe bowl until well combined. Microwave on High for 2 minutes. Stir and microwave on High until slightly thickened and steaming, about 2½ minutes more.

Easy and delicious This recipe is quick and easy, especially since the main ingredient is frozen berries. The result is a sauce that is not too sweet and is a great topping for my cream cheese pound cake. Everyone thought I went to a lot more trouble than I did. Pros: Not too sweet

This is an easy and delicious compote, everyone in my family loved it! Very lovely breakfast addition instead of using high calorie syrups. I paired it with Eating Well Whole Grain Buttermilk Pancakes, it was delicious! My fussy 3 year old gobbled it up. Definitely give this a go, you will not be disappointed. Pros: Easy, simple ingredients, quick Cons: none
