Perfect picnic sandwich I made the chicken filling (quadrupled for 4) brought it in a dish to an outdoor concert with brioche buns and romaine leaves packed separately; put together right before eating to avoid soggy sandwiches. Very tasty! Served with coleslaw and fruit made a very nice picnic dinner. Pros: Easy to make very tasty portable Cons: Probably not health conscious
Absolutely delicious and so easy to make. Even though it is leftovers it is such a different meal from a roasted chicken dinner that you don't feel like you are eating the same meal. Plus you are saving money.
This recipe was sooooo fast and delicious too. I have been trying to convince my husband that good non-processed food doesn't have to tast like sawdust. He is now on board in a big way. Like all your recipes this one is so flavor-filled! Thankyou!
Very yummy! Instead of ranch dressing I added one tablespoon of the barbeque sauce lettuce and dill pickles to the sandwiches. Perfect! Oh and my barbeque sauce had natural sugar and not high fructose corn syrup which unfortunately many sauces have. Watch out for that and check the sodium as well. Thanks for a yummy lunch.
LOVE BBQ everything!! =P....I saw this recipe and fell inlove. You can easily make this leftover meal low in sodium and health cautious while enjoying the mouth watering flavors.I used a low fat-low sodium BBQ sauce and X-out the ranch dressing. I did however added my little touch by sauting' red onions with a tad of extra virgin oil to the skillet to give it that sweet caremelized taste...Goes great with BBQ.
I love BBQ!!...and this recipe! =) I love the fact that I found a recipe that I can use for my leftover chicken as well as satisfy my BBQ crave and be health cautious... the only thing that it needed for that extra sweet touch was saute'd red onions with alil extra olive oil to suate. Mmmmm...Deeeelish!!
I'm dieting so I made mine on an Arnold Wheat sandwich thin skipped the dressing and used a low cal Ken Davis BBQ sauce. My sandwich came in at 215 Calories with 2.4 ounces of shredded chicken breast. Yummy and satisfying lunch I'll be making it again. I heated the mixture for 45 seconds in the microwave to take the chill off.
Great Simple BBQ! Great sandwich easy and quick for weeknight dinners. I skip the ranch addition and use Sticky Fingers BBQ sauce. If your not using the shredded carrots coleslaw mix is great to throw in too plus a pickle or two on top. Yum! Usually make this with the healthy onion rings. Pros: Tastes great simple quick
You can't tell the difference My husband is a very picky non veggie eater and I made this sandwich he loved it; you can't taste the carrots they just add a little crunch. To make mine a little healthier I did not add the ranch I used sandwich thins or Flax Pita and used a good BBQ sauce without alot of sugar. This has now became a staple for our lunches.
