This recipe was fabulous! I used black beans instead of the refried beans, which I mashed lightly with a potato masher. I used 1 lb of grass-fed organic beef and 1 can of black beans, drained. I also used 2 cloves of fresh garlic instead of the garlic powder. And instead of the pickled jalapenos, I used fresh roasted green chilies. I pan-fried instead of broiling and served open faced topped with a slice of jalapeno jack cheese, pico de gallo and sliced avocado...no bread, which cuts down on the carbs! FABULOUS and a huge hit with my family!
