Quick Cheese Grits

“Serve alongside spice-rubbed shrimp and sauteed greens.”


    • 1½ cups water
    • 6 tablespoons quick-cooking grits
    • Pinch of salt
    • Pinch of garlic powder
    • ¼ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    • Pinch of paprika


  • 1 Combine water, grits, salt and garlic powder in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until desired consistency. Remove from the heat and stir in cheese and paprika, stirring until the cheese melts.
