I recently became a smoothie addict. I'm making a green smoothie every day as part of the breakfast or lunch. 2 main things: powerful blender and ratio of fruits & veggies. Most of the time I'm making sure the fruits make less than 50% of the ingredients to cut down on sugar. My recent fave is 2 cups of spinach, 1/2 avocado, an orange (not just juice, the whole orange), about a cup of grapefruit and ice. If I don't have fresh grapefruit I use some from the No sugar added Del Monte jar. Sometimes I add a scoop of flavorless whey protein. It's a little tart and absolutely refreshing. Even my husband who doesn't like smoothies (especially green) drinks one and asks for more!
