The latest incarnation of the farm-to-table movement redefines what it means to eat fresh, seasonal and local food by bringing the table to the farm. While Outstanding in the Field may organize the best-known and widest-roving of such pop-up dinners (they take place in the U.S., Canada and Europe), farmers around the country have started hosting their own meals or collaborating with local restaurants. The price tag can be steep, ranging from $50 to over $200 per person, but some function as agricultural fundraisers.
