Nothing beats a good sweet potato pie!

Considering most pumpkin pies are very sweet and gummy, I don't like it. Better to have a good slightly tart and chunky apple pie, or a good hearty cheesecake.

We always have real home grown rubarb pie along with the apple and pumpkin.

Pumpkin is a delicacy, eaten only once or twice a year during the holidays with the unmistakable wafting of aromas flowing through the house. This is what makes it so special. Apple is found year round, making it more common and filled with less anticipation as the pumpkin for the crowining achievement of the meal.
