I love cranberry-orange sauce made with 1can regular cranberry sauce, 1 can whole berry cranberry sauce, 2 tablespoons mincemeat and some orange Crystal Light drink powder (to taste), plus
some chopped walnuts. I sometimes add some chopped apple as well. YUMMM!

When the weather starts getting really cold, I like to make homemade soups....vegetable, chicken (use the carcass after roasting a chicken for Sunday meal) potato leek soup, hamburg soup (that my mother use to make only I use seasoned turkey meat) beef stew, pea soup, turkey chili with a slice of homemade bread or rye/pumpernickel...my go to dinner and the house smells wonderful and comfy...besides, my friends and family like the care packages! AND I can control the fat and sodium, unlike canned soups.

Sweet potatoes almost fixed any way. I'm sure I'm probably quite weird; but I love baked plain, well scrubbed sweet potatoes slobbered with butter. Or I absolutely fell in love with the French Fried sweet potatoes that have been rolled in cinnamon and powered sugar and served with turkey fixed almost any way and some good green beans or another green vegetable. Just bring on the sweet potatoes. . . . .

I really love to make and eat my homemade soups. I love bean soups of all kinds, chicken soups, beef stews, vegetable soups with a bit of chicken. This fall of 2014 I plan to ex periment with more individual vegetables but in soup form. So hello to sweet potatoes, pumpkins, and a minestrone on those days I cannot decide on a single, lone vegetable.
