Eating less fried food and more baked food and drinking lots of water with every meals

I've already substituted fruit smoothies in the a.m., l/4 banana, mixed frozen berries, kiwi, and 3 fresh strawberries if I have them, in l/3 c orange juice. 1 cup smoothie , vs. a slice of toast or bowl of cereal I ate before. I don't eat meat more than twice a week, mostly chicken. I've begun one hour swimming/jumping/marching in the pool at 8:00 a.m. 5 X per week. Drinking more water. Convincing my husband he will like a mixed salad with grilled chicken ! In four days I've lost four lbs., not bad. I'm continuing on as long as I see results. Shirley

Eliminating wheat products, processed foods and vegetable oils(especially canola oil), and margerine
Focusing on healthy fats(fats from meat and dairy), whole unprocessed foods, using coconut and extra-virgin olive oil, and FULL FAT butter and milk

I have never heard of most of the ingredients in the foods you come up with. If they don't have them at Dollar General i can't make the dish!!!!!!!!!

If you're male be careful of Omega 3 fats.

High fiber, less calories, tons of vegetables, at least 2 fruits, whole grains only, and not very many. Low carb, lean protein, and lower-fat dairy. This is every day. 21 pounds and counting!

As in the past I have been able to lose weight without giving up eating all the time. Since my 6 surgeries on my left arm I found it hard to cook and ate a lot of bad TV dinners, plus with the winter here I have gained 15 pounds. Now my arm is still tender upon movement and will always be this way. I have adjusted my cooking methods. I eat low carbs and have since 1980. I still have sandwiches pizza and pasta occasionally but I'm a meat lover so it is enjoyable for me. Plus I eat a lot of vegetables and yogurt.

I have check the listing of carbs count on the internet and have such a wide list of foods available. Plus I have joined quite a lot of low carbs recipe sites and are always getting good recipes. It's OK to go wild occasionally but then it's time to get back to where you feel healthy again. This is not for everyone but it really works - depending on the foods you like. GOOD LUCK IN 2014.
