I limit or eliminate all of the listed items when preparing food for my family, friends, and co-workers. I feel lucky to have such a huge selection of choices, but am concerned about the safety of our food supply. GMO's sneaked into the food, contamination of food in growing, harvesting, transport and sales, poisons in the soil and water, shrinking supplies of sustainable fish--seems like bad news of some kind every day. I am grateful for local sources of food I can trust, and for my garden.

Carbs, especially processed carbs like white flour and white sugar. I am trying to eat more vegetables along with protein and cut out the carbs as much as possible.

I avoid excess salt and fat for my husband (and myself too). I avoid excess sugars for myself. We use mostly fresh or frozen ingredients - organic whenever possible. I make most of our bread too in order to avoid a lot of preservatives. I try as much as I can to buy local but it is difficult even when shifting meals for seasonal reasons.

I have acid reflux. I have been able to control it by limiting my intake of citric acid.

What most people don't realize is that a few decades ago people became so concerned about fats and calories that major companies reduced those significantly in foods. So, what they did to compensate is add sugar, sugar and more sugar. All one sees on packages is, "0 trans fats", low calories, etc but you very little if anything about the milligrams of sugar in packaging. Yet, this latest generation is developing obesity and diabetes at an alarming rate. So WHY are so many recipes, even on this website still full of processed sugar?

Healthy living starts w eating healthy we all agree. I enjoy my vegetables, fruits , water w minimal desserts. I lost n gain some weight n sometimes it feels really frustrating when u think u are doing the right thing yet, the weight keeps coming back. I think my problem is the white rice. My hope is to cut on it as from now . Am happy bu will be more happier if i shade off more pounds. Any suggestions.

I try not to eat: Processed foods, High fructose GMO - Corn Syrup, GMO Corn (70%) of all corn products on the market, produced with seeds are ready to be sprayed with roundup!!! "Round-up ready seed"! How exciting!!! I want Non-GMO corn that only needs mulch and spray on BT, that is safe for human and animal consumption.
