Simple caabohydrates act like a drug to me: they make me want more and more and more. So I try to avoid them.

I try to avoid processed foods, reducing carbs, less salt, less sugar..One really has to think about what we are eating, it's a full time job ,but feel better when I accomplish these tasks!

I have diagnosed Celaic Disease so I do not eat foods containing Gluten

I watch sodium content as that was recommended since I have Meniere's Syndrome, and at age 86, I'm doing better.,,,,,

Fried foods,refined sugars,white flours,white rice and white potatoes..and junk foods!!discipline is very important to live healthy and before u know it it's second nature.

mostly avoid deep fried food,and food with fats

Avoid unnecessary Sugar. Avoid Artificial Sweeteners. Avoid Sodas. Drink water and unsweetened tea and coffee. Instead of buying an iced latte, buy an iced black coffee and add just low fat or fat free milk or half and half or don't add any. If you like half and half or heavy creams for coffee, pasta sauces or gravy, try fat free half and half, extra creamy from Land O Lake. Eat any veggies and fruits that you can. Frozen, canned, whatever. Just do it! :-) Ooohhh...and skip white bread. Get one with lots of grains. Makes amazing sandwiches, toasted or cold. If you want a good meal but not a lot of fat and calories, make a TOASTED/panini sandwich (I use my George Foreman Grill). Toasting makes a big difference when it comes to having a good sandwich or a great sandwich for a meal! Add some pickles and roasted veggies on the side for some good sidekicks.

SALT.......There is no reason for so much salt to be in everything we buy.

I don't TRY, I DO avoid them all including dairy.

We have cut processed foods from our diet (my husbands endocrinologist is elated). We also try to avoid anything with high sodium, high in saturated fats and high sugar content.
