All meats, dairy, oils, processed foods, processed sugars. We eat plant-based with LOTS of veggies, fruits, legumes, whole grains and some nuts.

High Fructose Corn Syrup-I believe this ingredient is not good for us at all-It is a chemical within this that causes us to want more of what we just ate. Don't eat a lot of red meat.
Stay away from table salt-eat less with sea salt. Processed foods-love bologna as a kid -try real hard to stay away from it as an adult -not good for us. Really anything processed is not good. ALL NATURAL.VEGGIES, FRUITS LOVE THEM

I live in France (Paris region) and the one most important thing I've learned to stay away from is Genetically Modified Foods. By French law it's not allowed to be grown anywhere in the country. All food companies, restaurants (even fast foods) and food groups are required by law to mention "non-GMF" on their products, processed or not. I also stay away from red meat (and meat in general), as well as saturated fats, added salt, added sugar and from all processed foods. I buy my food completely natural at open (outdoor) markets, good supermarkets and organic suppliers, prepare and cook it in a stove (no microwave). The best and healthiest way to prepare a meal is in the Mediterranean style. When I travel, especially to the US, I prefer vegetarian style meals to be sure I'm not absorbing unnecessary "additives" and/or extras.

I liked when someone said if it comes in a packet, don't eat it. I don't always keep to it., but it is a guide line I use.
I read salt hardens arteries, but we need some. Sugar feeds Cancer and can agrivate Arthritis.
Bought Bread has so many ingredients the mind boggles, and gets stuck in between teeth. There are Pesticides all over bought Fruit and Veg, and the soil is starved of nutrients. No bleached products please. So we are on a mission. Organic Fruit and Veg. Grass fed meat. Virgin Olive or Coconut oil. Filtered or mineral water. Plus beans and pulses. Then in moderation Molasses or Maple syrup for sweetener, (at least you get some vitamins). Brown rice and flour. Butter on occasion, not margerine. Omega high fish and other fish. Experiment with all none dairy milks, and organic products.

Avoid MSG including all it's hidden names which means NO processed foods. Eat only fresh fruits, vegetables and meat containing NOTHING injected into it. Also limit salt, excess sugar and anything artificial.

Personally I stay away from bread and starches. I must add that there is no use in treating the symptoms of being overweight, because then I would never really find a permanent solution to my weight problem. I had to find the root cause of the problem. I found some great tips on this site: It seems to me that those little decisions I make daily compounded over time either have a positive or negative effect on my weight, health and life. Cheers Andy.
