I think that parents can also help their kids with this by getting them involved with the cooking process before they fly the nest- maybe they can cook for the family one night a week for a few months beforehad? I hadn't ever really cooked for myself before college, and learning how to prepare a meal, and how to enjoy cooking, really helped me control my weight. I actually lost ten pounds my first year of uni, very welcome as I was a pretty chunky teenager! Putting together a folder of five or so easy, healthy recipes might prevent kids from relying on snack foods and take-outs. — Anonymous |
