Why is everything low fat and sugar free poison? When I look to buy something sugar-free I want sugar free I don't need artificial sweeteners and other chemicals making everything taste awful. Why is it that company's think that we Americans demand salt fat and sugar! ENOUGH I only buy items that don't and I have to be very smart to find the very few things that meet up with my low standards.
Doesn't extra chemicals in food cost the company more anyway? It just doesn't make any sence.
Further more why alternative sugar has to be a man made chemical is beyond me, why not just use honey. Even diabetics can eat honey. Every time I eat or drink something with a false sugar I feel like crap. Really BAD. Any one else feel like that only with false sugars? I can have as much real sugar as I want and feel super. But one sip of diet soda, Crap city!

For a low glycemic sweet syrup, try Blue Agave Syrup. It's sweeter than sugar so you don't need as much. I use it to sweeten tea, lemonades and drizzle over strawberries and other tart fruit. It is pricey, but I have noticed over the years that the price is coming down. It used to be available only in health food stores, but I now find it in the health food section of regular grocery stores like Kroger, Randalls, Etc.

Eating fiber isn't much of a "secret" to weight maintenance. It's just what our moms always told us: eat your spinach and oatmeal and stay out of the cookie jar. Most of us already know what's junk and what's good for you--just follow your common sense.

I've had the best luck with low salt, minimal fat, high fiber, limited sugar of any kind, and just smaller proportions at each meal.

I agree with Leeron. HFCS is added to everything in huge amounts. It is one of the main causes of the weight gain in everyone....plus the fact that corn (along with other grains) contain fungi, which in turn, cause multiple problems with our bodies. I, too, use Stevia.....love it!!!

Dear Amy, im not quite sure where you got your info but high fructose corn syrop is processed and one of the worse things you can add to your diet. im assuming that your research is based on government articles cause they are the only ones who support HFCS. HFCS is a cheap way of processing sugar and will definitely cause many illnesses in the future. stick to the natural!!!!!
