The calculation was pretty much right on for me...being 235 lbs...(have come down from 290 lbs) on my own through exercise and weight management...
this is the next step, I should be comsuming approx 1800 calories a day...according to the chart.
now to begin... looks definitely like something achievable... looking forward to having a go at this...

How can i plan for 1200 and 1800 calories on the same plan?

I've been on the weight loss plan for a month now and have lost 11 pounds. It's only my husband and I. What I have been doing is cooking double for each day and basically having a free day from cooking every other day since we do left overs the next day. Many of the recipes are for 4 servings so not a big deal. I have found that my shopping order cost has actually gone down because I'm buying very specific amounts. It is time consuming but I'm happy with the results so far.

quick question...looking especially at the dinners, it looks as though there are 2 main entree choices and then the following items below that are all of the sides to go with whichever selection, or do you just pick one of them? seems like a lot of food just glancing at it? thanks!!

I was always taught that if weight loss rapid enough not to get discouraged and quit is the goal, 1000 cal/day is right for most women, 1200-1400 for most men. So, where's the 1000 cal/day option for us ladies?

I weigh 100 pounds, so I don't really understand the calculation. 100x12= 1200 and 1200-1000 is only 200.
Maybe I am mistaking the calculation, but I think that is right.

Looking at the plan for 1200 calories I'm amazed by how much food is on it. It also looks like a lot of cooking. I'm 5' 2" and currently weigh around 235lbs. I usually eat around 1200-1500 calories a day and it seems to maintain my weight. The only way I've found to lose weight is to consistenly exercise every day and drop down to around 1000 calories. That combination seems to work well when I can stick with it. Any advice for people like me?

No one should eat less than 1200 calories a day. Your body goes into starvation mode at that level. I am 5" 1" and I have been losing on 1400 calories a day. I have lost 20lbs, but very slowly- 1 or 1/2 lb a week. So what if it is slow..I can eat 1400 calories and lose weight

I read this article in the magazine print and it stated to subtract 500 not 1000 from your number after multipying. This will give you a more acurate number.

It tells me to multiply my weight (115) by 12. 115*12=1380. But on a 1200 calorie diet I would be maintaining, wouldn't I? And if I wanted to loose 2 lbs a week (which I really do), that would be 380 calories? So what am I supposed to do?
