Imagining yourself eating a tempting food might be just as satisfying as actually doing it.

Curb overeating... by first visualizing yourself eating the tempting food—slowly. When presented with a pile of M&Ms, people who imagined themselves eating 30 of them one at a time ate half as many as those who dove in without the visualization exercise, according to a study in a recent issue of Science.
