1 Simple Tip for Eating Less
How eating with a larger fork may help you eat less.
Hard to believe, right? Well, it may be true when you’re eating out, says a study recently published online in the Journal of Consumer Research. Researchers gave diners either a large or small fork alongside their meal of choice at an Italian restaurant and found that people who got the larger forks ate less, especially when their portion size was large. Because you use visual cues, such as cleaning your plate, to tell you when you’re full, researchers suspect that when you eat with a smaller fork you think you’re not making as much progress on your plate (therefore not satisfying your hunger) and are prompted to put in more mouthfuls.
