It makes sense to me that sea salt would be more healthy because it still has it's natural minerals whereas table salt which is also used in industry is processed and stripped of it's natural components. Therefore, the human body recognizes unprocessed seasalt as a natural product and is able to utilize it more efficiently the way it was intended to be used by the body and does not cause serious blood pressure problems when used in moderation. ..

You can get sea salt with added iodine. I buy it all the time. I do now have to wonder about the point above that water pollutants may be an attribute of sea salt whereas mined salt has not come into contact with modern day pollution. Hmmm! Something to think about.

All salt is sea salt. The rock salt in mines was created when that land was under the sea. The healthiest salt is from the Himalayan mountain salt mines, an area now in Pakistan. It was raised out of the sea 250 million years ago when the land now known as South Asia, collided with the Eurasian continent thus forming the Himalaya mountains.

I live near by sea. Almost every day I swim at sea. Takes lot of water in. Even the air I breath has salt in it .... I guess I should have serious health problems ?? Till now, I am OK and healthy. I am 55 from India.

While many types of table salt are iodine-enriched, they are also stripped of all their natural health properties and are chemically processed. Just one gram of himalayan salt contains approximately 500/mcg of iodine.

I will never believe salt without added iodine is safe. Goiters are practically unheard of now since salt has iodine added. Using sea salt is a dangerous fad. To get the same flavor as table salt it takes three times the amount of sea salt,so how is this healthy? Same difference as low fat foods. Wake up,America,stop falling for every snake oil thing that comes along. Listen to your body-it tells you what it needs by way of cravings and stop going to the doctor for every ache and pain.
