A. Even if you’re watching your sodium intake, you can enjoy sea salts. While gram for gram sea salts contain as much sodium as table salt, their larger crystals and unique flavors, derived from various sources, may result in your using less salt overall, says Chef Kyle Shadix, M.S., R.D., director at Nutrition + Culinary Consultants in New York City. Sel Gris de Í’lle de Ré gets its color from gray clay; Maldon has a distinct fine-flake crystal structure; and Himalayan Pink is named for the mountains where it’s mined. Another way to minimize sodium: don’t salt while you’re cooking and instead simply sprinkle a pinch of coarse sea salt on your finished dish before serving. Himalayan Crystal Salt is the most beneficial, cleanest salt available on the planet. It was formed about 230 million years ago where the energy of sun has dried up the original, primal sea. This crystal salt is absolutely pristine and natural, identical in composition to the ancient primal ocean.Himalayan salt is most commonly found as coarse grains, fine grains, or large blocks in Pink Dark pink and in white color. Which can be used as serving platters that delicately “season” the food they serve. The pink color is due to iron oxide. To stop salt from clumping, try adding a few grains of rice to the shaker. That's what we used to do may years ago.

Natural sea salts contain 75 percent of sodium chloride. They cannot be eaten. For food you need to use rock salt of marine origin (99% NaCl).
But most of the underground rock salt deposits are not of marine origin, since they originated from the sediments of high thermal brines.
In terms of the salts has a lot of entanglement.

The article states that sea salt has more flavor, etc. Sea salt comes in different sized crystals so I don't know which seal salt they are comparing with table salt. The sea salt we use every day has little taste so I have to shake a bunch of it on items. Table salt is stronger and tastes "saltier".
As my sea salt is all stuck together in the shaker, I removed it and washed shaker and top. I know it's the humidity that is make this stuff stick together. The shaker is plastic and I can see that the inside is "foggy". I'd really like to know what to do about his because we have high dew points and temperatures all summer. The air-conditioning is running all the time.
The larger sea salt crystals we never use. It's in a shaker too, and you have to turn the bottom/top to grind it up. Maybe it's the shaker, but very little comes out.

Seems to me that if you are prone to genetic heart disease, you will get sick at any point in time during your life, the only thing you can do is keep your body fit eat healthy and let nature do the rest......

I am one of the few people who can EASILY taste the difference between sea salt and rock salt!! I've tasted many products from friends and family without knowing the ingredients and can easily tell which ones had the sea salt because my tastebuds recognize with a bad taste.

If you are worried about sea salt not containing iodine, you can always take an iodine supplement, one drop daily, problem solved. Sea Salt is far healthier for the body simply because of it's natural form that has not been tampered with.
