Keep weight in check

Along with a healthy diet, regular physical activity can help to improve blood cholesterol levels too. It’s especially important to lose weight if you have a cluster of risk factors for metabolic syndrome and obesity-related conditions (e.g., heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes). Risk factors include high triglycerides and/or low HDL levels, you are overweight and a waist measurement more than 40 inches (men) or 35 inches (women).
