I AGREE WITH THE FIRST COMMENTATOR- LABEL GE FOODS SO THAT WE MAY KNOW WHAT WE ARE CONSUMING. COULD GE FOODS BE THE CULPRIT BEHIND CERTAIN DISEASES AND CANCER? GE FOODS ARE NOT AS DELICIOUS AS NATURALLY PRODUCED FOODS.

I VEHEMENTLY AM OPPOSED TO GE AND GMO FOODS OF ALL TYPES. IF ALL OF CREATION IS MADE OF THE SAME DNA MATERIALS, WHAT AFFECTS ONE ORGANISM IS SURELY TO AFFECT ALL ORGANISMS. IF SOMETHING IS HARMFUL TO ONE ORGANISM THEN IT IS HARMFUL TO ALL ORGANISMS. GREED IS NOT GROUNDS FOR THOUGHTLESS AND RAMPANT MANIPULATION OF ORGANISMS. I AM FOR ALL PRODUCTS TO BE LABELED SO I CAN CHOOSE WHETHER TO CONSUME IT OR NOT.
There is nothing brilliant about enhancing a gene so that more of our own herbicide can be used. Chemical companies are behind (sometimes only financially) most of the bio-engineering and they have never put human health and safety above their profits. In fact, they state that their only motivation is to make as much money as possible (Monsanto).
What is this about adding vitamin A to the genes? Don't they know that vitamin A builds up in your fatty tissue and can actually kill you if you get too much? Hmmmm
Anyway, with all the meddling going on behind our backs and running rampant in our food supply, it is not too much to ask to put a label on it so we know what we are putting in our bodies. If you have a reaction to the food, how will your doctor be able to diagnose?
IT IS OUR RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT IS IN OUR FOOD!!
There are natural ways to control pests that try to eat away crops and produce. Genetically mutated 'foods' are abnormal and can never, ever, ever give the body what it needs to be heal itself or to be truly healthy the way they are intended.
The potential for pest reduction (& reduction of harmful pesticides) as well as the potential for enhanced nutrition & a more stable food supply is very real and must be taken into account, rather than dismissing it just on principle. However, human nature is such that our arrogance, pride, & greed drives us to neglect important ethical concerns and ecological impacts. It's sad that something so brilliant & amazing will more than likely be misused, misapplied, and cause irreperable damage.
