Toasted sesame seeds: Toasted sesame seeds can be purchased, but the flavor is better when you toast your own. To toast 1 cup of sesame seeds, place in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant and beginning to brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Store in the freezer, in an airtight container, for up to 6 months.
