your are very misinformed and misleading others- apples are on the top " dirty dozen list" each person should really do there own research and Any pestisides are bad for you, they are not natural, if they kill bugs, they will kill you and your health . if you cant afford organic- please wash, wash, wash, Dr. Oz has a good homemade, all natural produce cleaner; i can testify that organic does taste better, too.

I'm actually shocked to read such a statement from your magazine. Obviously, there are some type of chemicals being used in fruit production if they are not grown organically. Many local farmers who are not certified organic do not use chemicals making local farmer's markets a good choice - just ask the farmer for their practices. The fact that the FDA has approved certain chemicals now to be used means they just haven't found the risks yet as I'm sure, like with all other pesticides, they will come out years from now telling us they were wrong and now they have a new chemical. Bottom line, stay away from any chemically treated foods whenever possible and if you can't find them or afford them, then take the time to wash them properly (vinegar, water, fresh lemon juice mixture). Really, I'd expect more from a public and widely read magazine.

I love apples and I never eat organic ones. Does this mean I will become infertile?
