I love apples and I never eat organic ones. Does this mean I will become infertile?

I'm actually shocked to read such a statement from your magazine. Obviously, there are some type of chemicals being used in fruit production if they are not grown organically. Many local farmers who are not certified organic do not use chemicals making local farmer's markets a good choice - just ask the farmer for their practices. The fact that the FDA has approved certain chemicals now to be used means they just haven't found the risks yet as I'm sure, like with all other pesticides, they will come out years from now telling us they were wrong and now they have a new chemical. Bottom line, stay away from any chemically treated foods whenever possible and if you can't find them or afford them, then take the time to wash them properly (vinegar, water, fresh lemon juice mixture). Really, I'd expect more from a public and widely read magazine.

your are very misinformed and misleading others- apples are on the top " dirty dozen list" each person should really do there own research and Any pestisides are bad for you, they are not natural, if they kill bugs, they will kill you and your health . if you cant afford organic- please wash, wash, wash, Dr. Oz has a good homemade, all natural produce cleaner; i can testify that organic does taste better, too.

yada yada yada
yes pesticides bad, all things organic are nice so they say.

I remember 1 year back people being killed by an infectious bug from organically grown sprouts here in Germany.
sigh

would I prefer to give my children organic food?
yup
would I prefer to grow it myself instead of organic so I can be sure?
yup

but in reality
well
an organic chicken tastes better than an industrial grown one, it also costs about 10 times more around here.
that would mean the difference between 6€ and 60€ per frozen chicken (assuming same weight)

if anyone wants to make a difference in they're diet for less chemicals, dump the meat and get organic there.
can't wash or peel off the growing hormones and antibiotics used in animal growing.
