Hooray! This is great news, especially the pledge by Walmart. They are a game-changer, for better or worse. — Anonymous |

This is fantastic! I have a little card in my wallet listing all of the fish to eat and to avoid from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Their site also says that Target will not be selling farmed salmon (yay!). You can check out more info on this subject and print out your own Seafood Watch Pocket Guide here: http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/seafoodwatch.aspx — Anonymous |

I was thrilled to open my new issue of Eating Well when I saw this picture of my favorite celebrity chef, Alton Brown, supporting one of my favorite causes, sustainable seafood. Thank you, Eating Well Magazine, for bringing this issue to the forefront! — Anonymous |

How is it that farmed Atlantic fish are endangered and wild Alaskan salmon are not. Doesn't farming the fish by definition preserve wild stocks? Also what is the fish being held in the picture? — Anonymous |

I suspect the fish he's holding is a Chilean Sea Bass... — Anonymous |

To Anonymous commenter at 04/13/2010 - 6:12pm Farmed salmon aren't endangered - they are on the Avoid list because the farmed fish practice isn't good for the environment, plus they are filled with antibiotics. The others are on there because they are being over-fished. Some fish are on the list because they are polluted with heavy metals like mercury. — Anonymous |

I've always been in love with Alton Brown. He's so admirable—and a good cook too! I love his show Good Eats on Food Network. Here's one more really good reason to feed my obsession. :-) — Anonymous |
