Bottled Water vs. Tap

What's healthier for you? For the environment?

"I almost always drink tap water. Sometimes at a meeting there is no other choice but bottled water so I have to drink it then. I keep a bottle of tap water in my car to quench my thirst while driving. Why waste what little bit of money...

Well water often contains unspecified amounts of anti-biotics and other medications that are not broken down by the human digestive system. I drink water that has been purified by osmosis to remove the chlorine taste. It comes in 20 litre bottles that I re-use. So, I guess technically I drink bottled water, but I'm not adding to the waste stream. — Anonymous	04/18/2010 - 11:15pm

We have faucet mount filters in the kitchen and bathroom, and drink filtered tap water. We use the filtered water for just about everything - Kool Aid, lemonade, in the coffee pot, in the iced tea maker, and for our pets' drinking water, too. Our city water tastes terrible. I have been using a Brita Pitcher for years for my water. Very cost-effective and definitely tastes better than any plain, unfiltered tap water I've come across. I will buy a small bottle of water every so often just to have a new bottle to re-use for my filtered water. As I live in AZ I need to stay hydrated! — Anonymous	04/18/2010 - 4:33pm
