What about potatoes... I was raised with the belief that, they have a toxin bad for dogs.

potato is fine, but just like people apparently, stay the hell away from the shoots and any green parts, so peel it properly, and as with any vegetable preferably cook it first before giving to fido. Apparently white potato cooked i. the common table potato has a bunch of good for you stuff for dogs and cats, just obviously watch what you put with them :)
