By the end of last year, I was pretty sure that America’s fascination with cute little frosting-rich desserts (e.g., the cupcake frenzy) would be waning. I was wrong: enter the Cake Pop. What the cupcake did to cake (made it smaller and portable, heightened the frosting-to-cake ratio), the cake pop has now done to cupcakes. What’s not to love about little frosting-coated balls of cake on a stick? Portable? Check. Portion-controlled? Check. Cute? Frickin’ adorable!
