EatingWell has always celebrated healthy cooking using the freshest seasonal fruits and vegetables. It’s an idea that has finally caught on. Proof is in the vibrant movement back to seasonal, healthy eating and America’s new love affair with farmers’ markets. We want to know where our food comes from, what’s in it and how it’s produced. So in an effort to find the nation’s best, we asked you, our readers, to tell us about your favorite farmers’ market. Below is a full list compiled from the hundreds of suggestions we received.

| There is no Charles Village Farmers Market in Maryland. There is, however, the 32nd Street Farmers Market. It is irrefutably in the Waverly neighborhood, no matter how much the more-affluent Charles Villagers would like to take credit for the best thing that happens in the zip code they share with Waverly. | The Aptos Farmers Market is impressive year-round, with more options than I know what to do with. Hard-to-find mushrooms, kohlrabi, numerous varieties of crisp apples, mountains of fragrant basil, and dry-farmed tomatoes. And don't forget the fair-trade coffee, handcrafted chocolates, pastries, and fresh fish. This market captures what is unique about Santa Cruz County. There is a strong desire to provide sustainable, local goods to the community in a celebratory setting. The entertainment is truly unique, too, from the guy in strange outfits with the accordian to a folk group that draws crowds of families and happy shoppers. Once a month, shop with a chef who teaches you how to select produce and prepare tasty meals. Every weekend, you can meet local pets for adoption from the local shelter or learn about composting and organic gardening. | Here's another farmer's market to add to your list - in Brooklyn, New York, at the Brooklyn Borough Hall at Court & Montague Streets. It's open year round on Tuesdays & Saturdays, and on Thursdays from April to December. It's smaller than the Union Square greenmarket but has some wonderful vendors and may, in fact, be the second largest greenmarket in New York City after the one in Union Square.
