I made this last night for dinner,but had to adjust for what I had on hand. I used one serrano chile, since I didn't have any canned chiles. I also pureed the whole pot and didn't have any cilantro for garnish. I felt it needed a crunchy texture (not mushy), so I added some Goldfish crackers as I ate it. I thought the soup was okay; my husband (not an adventurous eater) didn't even finish his.
