If you’re crafty (unlike me), you’re probably used to following patterns to produce beautiful results. I am more likely to dive in and figure out a unifying structure after the fact (as in, a knitted potholder that started out to be a scarf). When I say “dinner in a bowl,” I don’t mean cold cereal. Despite what you may call “dinner” in the privacy of your own kitchen or living room when no one else is watching, I prefer something more healthful and more satisfying. Other than my cat’s birthday, I don’t throw many parties. Most nights my husband and I are content with our quiet unsocial life and casual approach to dinner—it only has to please us.
