Two of my go to foods for protein are lentils and quinoa. I substitute quinoa anytime I see rice in a recipe.

My big tip for lentils is to buy the pre-cooked ones from Trader Joes (near the pre-packaged salads and veggies.)

The way this question is posed causes a small problem. Anyone who might be interested in hearing my tips may already be exploring a vegetarian lifestyle, and would have ideas about meeting their protein needs. As I have stated in my earlier blogs, I am a partial vegetarian. I have found that when someone notices I eat vegetarian meals, and asks me about my protein intake, they normally state something like this, "Are you sure you're getting enough protein eating like that?" Americans have two strong beliefs: meat=protein and milk=vitamin D and calcium. I would like to see other people follow at least a partial vegetarian lifestyle, so my tip is too listen. I will ask the person if they think I am getting enough protein when I "eat that way". You'd be amazed at the amount of tips I come up with for myself, as well as the other person, when you start a controversial dialogue in this manner.

Lentils and Greek yogurt are both packed with protein

I incorporate a lot of different kinds of beans into all my meals!!!!
