I like oatmeal for breakfast too. My favorite way is to add apple, cooked with my oatmeal and sweetened with a little brown sugar. I sometimes add walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries, or chopped prunes. A very good breakfast.

The easiest and best way to make oatmeal whether it be steel cut oats or old fashioed rolled oats. We do not consider quick oats or instant oatmeal to be food for breakfast.
Steel cut: bring to a boil 4 c. water. When the water boils, add 1 cup steel cut oats and 3/4 tsp salt. Immediately turn off the gas or remove from heat. Cover the pan. Let sit overnight or for several hours, until the pan cools. Refrigerate and use for two-three days. Microwave your serving till hot and serve with maple syrup and milk if desired. So easy.
