How long do you cook the oats eh? Dontcha think maybe that little bit of information would make your lame article say... "Useful?"

So, this article is interesting but why does it stop where it stops. Bring the water to a boil, then add oats? Or put them in and bring the whole mixture to a boil? Cook for 10 minutes? Or 25 minutes? Sorry to say, this piece stops short of being really helpful to someone uninformed enough to have to go to the Interwebs to find out how to cook oatmeal. That's me.

I take a cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup shredded coconut mix it together as dry ingredients in a bowl, then sprinkle warm slightly salted water and lightly mix with fingers to get a crumbly type of texture (like breadcrumbs). It should not be too dry or too wet. Then spread on a steaming tray and steam for about 10 minutes. To eat, you can add butter or fruits etc. I love it with banana. Just yummy. I have it for breakfast and dinner. Very satisfying and filling. I plan to try it with steel cut oats.

I do not like sweet oatmeal, so I add salt, black pepper or cayenne and lemon juice.

omlettes (add mushrooms, chrrey tomarotes, spinach, or whatever you like to your eggs and cook)mix together in a pan and cook until warm: 1 cup almonds, 1 cup (dried and sliced) apricots, 1 cup old fashioned oatmeal, 1 cup honey, 1 cup 100% all-natural peanut butter, 3 scoops muscle milk protein powder now that's alot of calories, if you're going to eat that in just one sitting. so, just eat a LITTLE bit of the mixure and use the rest of it to make protein energy bars!! . it's actually a protein energy bar recipe found on youtube (toneitup channel) that i love just eating when warm and not in protein energy bars Protein pancakes recipe (youtube): .PS: i know you want something warm, but green smoothies are the best!! I love oatmeal, and have added raisins, &/or cranberries. I also use brown sugar to add a bit of sweetness, and milk (usually 1%).I've used cinnamon as well, but I've never tried applesauce, which I think I will try next time, which also may help decrease the sugar altogether. (I prefer unsweetened applesauce). I have to watch my stomach though, very sensitive to foods that it never used to be sensitive too, and oatmeal seams to still be tolerable. I find that eating oatmeal for any meal of the day quite filling and satisfying.

I make a concoction of ground flaxseed, walnuts,
Cinnamon, brown sugar with a little low fat
Milk. I keep the dry ingredients in a jar mixed
together ready to use.

I use 1 cup water and 1/2 cup quick oats, microwave for 1-1/2 minutes, add1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese for some added protein, blueberries, stir and warm through for 15 seconds in microwave. Sprinkle with your favorite sweetener (I use Splenda) and cinnamon, or you can use sugar free maple syrup. Yummy!
