I've been cooking corn on the cob for YEARS. Can't imagine doing it any other way. I put both ears on the microwave dish and cook for 2.50 minutes. Five minutes is too much. Healthier with less cooking.

NEVER put any vegetable in the microwave. It takes 7 seconds for every nutrient to be eradicated. Don´t believe me? Try this simple test. Water your plants for one month.....one with regular water and the same type with water that has been microwaved then cooled. See what the difference is right before your eyes. It is just as bad for our bodies. Now you know why whole countries have banned the use of microwave ovens.

I've been microwaving corn for a while. While I am from a farm family and taught to pick corn as soon as the water boils, this is the best method. However, trim the stem end before microwaving! You won't burn your hands and it cooks better. The silk and husk just fall right off.

Wrap each ear in a paper towel and run each ear under the faucett to dampen towels, then microwave them all directly in the microwave on the base for seven (7) minutes...then enjoy...take your microwave outside for the 4th of July to treat your guest and family...better than grilled ...jist rub on butter and add seasoned salt ... moist and delicious and oh so good, you can season with whatever...a must try.

YEARS AGO WHILE WORKING IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY,WE HAD CO WORKERS THAT HAD WORKING FARMS AND WOULD BRING BUSHEL BASKETS OF CORN,TOMATOES, PEAS,POTATOES,OKRA.SQUASH,AND CUCUMBERS ALONG WITH FRESH YARD EGGS. BACK IN THE 70'S WE WORKEDA LOT OF OVERTIME ON A DAILY BASIS...ONE EVENING THERE WAS ABOUT 12 OF US AND WE WERE TIRED OF CARRY OUT FOOD,,,SO A FELLOW EMPLOYEE SAID WE SHOULD BE ABLE T MAKE A MEAL OF ALL THIS UNCOOKED PRODUCE.AFTER SEVERAL TRIES AT COOKING THESE FOODS IN A MICROWAVE WITH DIFFERENT RESULTS,WE FINALLY WRAPED A PAPER TOWEL AROUND AN EAR OF CORN IN THE HUSK AND TRIED THAT...IT WAS BETTER BUT DRY,SOMEONE SUGGESTED TO TRY IT WITH THE PAPER TOWEL WET...WELL IT WORKED BETTER BUT TRIAL AND ERROR LED US TO 7 MINUTES BEING THE BEST COOKTIME. I'VE ENJOYED MICROWAVE ROASTED CORN EVER SINCE WHEN IN SEASON. TRY THIS AND YOU'LL NEVER WANT CORN ON THE COB ANY OTHER WAY...TAKE THE MICROWAVE OUTSIDE AND RUN A CORD FOR A REAL FOURTH OF JULY TREAT FOR YOUR GUEST AND FAMILY....

Microwave in a steamer. Using the steamer makes the corn taste as though it had been boiled

I submerse the corn with husks in cold water. 5 10 min, just to make sure water has penetrated the husk. Then I put it on the grill for 10 min or so.

I have been microwaving my corn in the husks like this since last summer; sooooo much easier. I do it this way:
soak corn in husks in cold water for about half an hour, cut stem end off to about an inch from cob.
Place in microwave safe tray and cook on baked potato cycle, when finished remove using oven gloves ( corn will be hot!), let sit for 5 minutes and remove husks and silk. Easy peasy and so delicious and sweet! The water soaked cob steams the corn and keeps it hot when applying butter and seasonings. The husks can be taken off or used (after cooling) to hold onto the cob so no need for the little holders.
