how do you can tomato's without them being mushy when you open the jar?

pickled egg are great... as is pickled cauliflower... I have lost the recipes for both... do you happen to have them... haha not mine but to share.. hehe cheers hmac..

I would love to know how to "Pickle Green Beans", the Old Fashioned Way. My mother in-law, back in the 1950s, would break the beans, put them in a " Crock" it was a tall one, plus water, salt, I don't know what other ingredients or the amounts. She would cover the Crock with a towel & let them sit at room temperature for several days, do not know how many days.She made them sorta like making "Old fashioned Sauerkraut". I can't find anyone that knows how to do these kind of Pickled Beans. My mother -in -law passed away many years ago & I never learned how to make them. I would really appreciate if some one knows this method & would let me know.
