How to make a healthy smoothie: best smoothie ingredients & 10 to ditch

Breana asks: What do you put in your smoothie?


What I put in my smoothies are skim milk, bananas, and pineapples. But I'm not sure if that's good enough to help improve my health.

You should list HOW MUCH (ounces, etc). of the ingredients you put into your smoothie. I see coworkers come in with a "hallon-size like container! 64 ounces at 1 sitting is a bit much...

I am at a blank when trying to make a smoothie that helps with kidney stones. Is there a smoothie that I can make that will help with aiding in the elimination of kidney stones through the urine.

Handful of spinach, kale, one Apple, a carrot, fresh pineapple chunks, frozen mango, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1tbsp flax meal, filtered water, ice. Chia seeds help thicken so I don't use yogurt. Sometimes I add few frozen raspberries, 1/2 lemon, or romaine lettuce depending on what is available.

I put in a handful of spinach, kale, an apple, a carrot, fresh pineapple chunks, frozen mango chunks, 1tbsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp flax meal, water, ice, and sometimes a few frozen strawberry, or 1/2 fresh lemon.
