Thanks so much! I would use a rice cooker, but my other family members prefer to eat white rice.

I was never able to cook rice until I got my rice cooker. Now I'm a big fan and have made the switch to brown. Particularly love brown Jasmine rice.

I don't hear many people talk about rice cookers though. Is there something negative about them?

Our experience with brown rice has been that it splits up when cooked. Adding a bit of clarified butter or half a tea spoon of oil while cooking the rice keeps the morsels intact give a good texture to the rice.

I wanted to make brown rice as I am not the cook here at our house; it turned out perfect thanks to your information in 30 minutes. I just followed the instructions. Fluffy, good tasting, rice without any hard kernels. Thank you, Joe from Traverse Ctiy Mi.
